Pamper Time!

Over the last few days, I decided to spend a little time pampering myself. Usually this would mean taking a bubble bath and spending more than half an hour in it. But this time I decided to try a few different products to really give myself a treat.

Over the course of a few days I tried out two different face masks, some pore strips, a foot pack, and a foot cream.

I apologise for the scary photos of me wearing face masks!

The first mask I tried was Tea Tree and Spearmint Pore Cleansing Fabric Facial from Montagne Jennesse. I'm very lazy when it comes to face masks and really can't be bothered to wash them off (unless I'm getting straight into the shower) and my skin is too dry to benefit from most peel off masks. So a fabric mask seemed like the perfect thing for me.

This smelt very strongly of mint, which I really enjoyed but might be a little overpowering for some people. The mask itself was a very wet piece of fabric, which appears to be made for people with huge faces as the eye, mouth and nose holes were not in very convenient places.
My skin did feel quite nice after using this mask, and it was pretty relaxing whilst on, I would probably repurchase this mask.

The second mask I tried was the Renew You Pure Radiance Hydragel Masque, which claims to illuminate and perfect the skins texture.
This felt like there was a goddamn jellyfish on my face! It was so slimy and gross feeling, and pretty difficult to get on as it was so slippy. It comes in two parts which makes it fit the face much better than the previous mask, which was nice. It has a light floral scent, nothing too noticeable or overpowering. Once I got used to the texture it felt nice on the skin, and I did feel like it softened and hydrated my skin, although I did feel like I belonged in a horror movie when I looked in the mirror.

I have never used pore strips before so I was a little unsure to try these. You have to wet your nose for them to work properly, and the first time I didn't do a very good job, but it stuck firmly the second time I tried. Either these aren't very good or I just had really good skin on my nose (which the spot at the side of my nose disagrees with), as it looked clean when I pulled it off, which I didn't expect. I also wanted to scrunch my nose a million times whilst this was on.
In all honesty I doubt I'll use this brand of pore strips again, but I will try others to see if I really do have perfect skin on my nose.

I really dislike feet! Doing a sport and having a job where I am constantly on my feet has really taken it's toll, and there is more dry skin than those little fishes at the spa can handle, so I got particularly excited at the prospect of a foot pack. These were little plastic booties with a mesh like inside with the cream/liquid in the middle. Upon application, these were super cold and felt really odd and squelchy. But I soon got to used to it and sat with them on fro quite a while, occasionally massaging my feet through the booties. These claim to soothe and soften dry, rough and chapped feet. My feet felt lovely afterwards and I will definitely be repurchasing these by the boat load.

Finally I followed up with a foot cream from Scholl, which contain Salicylic and Lactic Acid to help break down dead skin. My feet aren't perfect, but they feel so much better than before, after a few more uses I'll be able to show of my tootsies without worrying about unsightly dry patches.

To go with your pamper supplies, I recommend a good bottle of wine (as long as you're old enough) and some cheesy chick flicks, I watched PS I Love You and Dirty Dancing. You don't get much better than that!

What does your pamper night consist of?

Mini Superdrug Haul/First Impressions

I may have been a little naughty on the Superdrug website (and again whilst looking up the prices to write this blog)

I actually only bought six things, five from Makeup Revolution and one from MUA.
I wanted to try out some different things from Makeup Revolution, as I really enjoyed the majority of the things I tried previously, and then the product from MUA really intrigued me.

Makeup Revolution Pure Pigment in Supreme

This really didn't have much colour at all but it redeemed itself by being ridiculously sparkly, so I will get some use out of this. Perhaps a darker colour would have more payoff. This was £1 on the Superdrug website.

Makeup Revolution Baked Blush in Loved Me The Best

This is super pigmented, as I expected, and super pretty. Every cheek product I have tried from Makeup Revolution has been beautiful, and this sparkly pink blush is no exception. Available on the Superdrug website for £2.50.

Makeup Revolution Amazing Volume Ultra Black Mascara

I was a little skeptical to buy this mascara, having heard absolutely nothing about it, as I usually go for mascaras which everyone raves about. But nevertheless I wanted to give it a go so I can let you guys know how good a £2 mascara can be.
I really dislike the packaging on this, it looks super cheap. The brush is a regular mascara brush, maybe slightly bigger and the formula is a little drier than I normally care for.

Makeup Revolution Lipsticks in 100% Vamp and Rebel With A Cause

L-R 100% Vamp, Rebel With A Cause

Top to Bottom 100% Vamp, Rebel With A Cause

I love the Makeup Revolution Lipsticks. I already have two, but if you read my previous Makeup Revolution post you'll know that I didn't exactly buy wearable colours, so I wanted to try some others.
These colours are so me! 100% Vamp is a deep purple, which looks almost black in the tube and is super dark on the lips. Rebel With A Cause is a beautiful deep raspberry colour which I've worn everyday since I got it.
As before these are creamy and very pigmented, with a vanilla scent similar to MAC lipsticks. The only issue I have is the flimsy packaging, as I the lid comes off very easily and doesn't click into place.
These were £1 each so an absolute bargain.

MUA Colourblast Eyeshadow Tint in A Girl Like Me

Upon opening this product I was instantly dissapointed, as the website showed this colour as being a black colour, and as you can see it is more of a bronze/beige. This is a mistake on the website and I have emailed Superdrug to let them know.
I do quite like this colour, it's just not the one I wanted.
It is a neutral bronze colour which I will use as a base for neutral shadows. It is a nice creamy texture, but not so creamy that it feels like it will crease easily.
This was £3 on the Superdrug website.

Overall I liked all of the products, my favourites being the lipsticks and the blusher.
Here is a look using all of the products to show how they look on the face.

I used the MUA eyeshadow tint as a base for the Makeup Revolution Pigment in Supreme (with some Savage from UD Electric Palette through the crease). I used the mascara (about 3 coats) and was actually quite pleased with the result. On the cheeks I blended out the baked blush, which was ridiculously bright and pigmented, you only need the tiniest bit. And finally, on the lips i used Rebel With A Cause all over and then used 100% Vamp on the outer corners to add some depth and fullness to the lips.

Summer Lovin' Tag

I've recently seen a few of my favourite Youtubers do the Summer Lovin' Tag, so thought I would give it a go. I'll link some of my favourites at the end of the post for you to check out :)

The Questions

What Summer Lipstick are you Loving

I am currently loving nude lipsticks, either Benefit Shy (a new discovery) or Sleek Liqueur. I've been wearing a lot of bright colourful eyeshadow and so a nude lip compliments it perfectly.

What Summer Nail Polish are you Loving

My current favourite polish is Models Own Flip Flop. The formula is shit not very good, but the colour is so bright and summery that I am willing to work with it, but only on my toes.

Bikini you are Loving

I don't own any bikinis at the moment :( although I have seen a lovely Wonder Woman one in Asda that I have my eye on.

Favouite Frappaccino from Starbucks

My favourite drink from Starbucks at the moment is the Coconut Mocha Frappaccino. It's so tasty <3

Favourite Fake Tan

My favourite fake tan is St Moritz Dark Mousse. It's a nice colour and goes on without streaks when used with a mitt.

Favourite Summer Song

Wilkinson - Afterglow is my current favourite song.

Favourite Summer Accessory

My new Minecraft style sunglasses from Primark.

Favourite Summer Fragrance

Soap and Glory Orangeasm is such a refreshing summery fragrance, which as you can imagine, is a super orangey scent.

Summer Book you are Loving

I haven't got much reading done yet this summer as I've been such a busy bee, but I recently finished The Fault in our Stars and I really enjoyed it.

What are you Most Excited to do this Summer

I am most excited to pass my driving test and drive to the Beach whenever I want.

That's it for this tag. I tag all of you so please link your posts/videos below if you do this tag.

As promised, here are a couple of my favourite Summer Lovin' Tag Videos.

Little Lush Trip

I made a little impromptu shopping trip today and spent a little too much money on things I do not need (as usual).

Obviously I had to pop into Lush, as I haven't been to the one in my home town for quite a long time.

I made one purchase (aren't you all proud of my restraint!) although it was pretty pricey for such a small amount of product.

Sesame Suntan Lotion - £8.00 for 100ml

This is more than I would usually spend on a sunscreen, but it smells so good that I needed it there and then. It smells like peanut butter and tahini which is just so delicious that I want to lick myself (my friend may or may not have tasted it whilst we were in the store). It only has an SPF of 10, so isn't the best if you're particularly fair or prone to burning, however the label states that it is also effective as an aftersun, so even if you need a higher SPF sunscreen, you can still have a use for this delicious smelling product.

As you can imagine, I applied this as soon as I left the store and it is surprisingly quick to sink in and isn't greasy feeling at all (which I was slightly worried about if I'm honest). Overall I really like this and the only downside is the price.

Now although I only bought one thing, I left with a few more (I promise I'm not a thief) as the lovely Lauren who works there gave me a couple of samples.

She gave me a very generous sample of Ocean Salt Cleanser, which I absolutely love and it smells like Margaritas.

She also gave me a sample of H'suan Wen Hua hair treatment, which I also really enjoy. This is probably enough for one use as I have ridiculously thick hair. It has a really nice spicy scent to it, which is definitely not to everyones taste, but I really like.

Thank you Lauren for being so generous. This is why I love Lush, the customer service is fantastic and I've never come across an employee who isn't super friendly and helpful.

The Electric Challenge! How I Got On

Earlier in the week, I posted to let you all know that I was going to be doing the Electric Challenge, as mentioned by Emily from Beauty Broadcast.

I wear my electric palette almost everyday, so part of my challenge was to have a brand new look each day, which I hadn't done before.

I put absolutely no planning into this challenge, I simply opened my palette each day and used the colours I was drawn to, other than the final day, where I used the colours that I hadn't previously used.

Monday

For this look, I used Fringe, Freak and Chaos from the Electric palette. I mixed Fringe and Freak to create a minty teal colour, then blended Chaos into the outer corner. To finish the look I used some colours from the Naked 3 palette to blend, and my Urban Decay Ink for Eyes liner.

Tuesday

For this look, I used Thrash, Freak, Savage, Chaos and Urban. I used Thrash on the tear duct, then blended Freak a little further along the upper lash line. Then I blended Savage a little further along, and Chaos to the end of the upper lash line. I then created a wing with Urban. I completed the look by blending Darkheart  from the Naked 3 palette along the lower lash line.

Wednesday

Here I went for a bit of a frozen vibe, and this is definitely one of my favourite looks from the challenge. I used Revolt along the inner two thirds of the lid, then blended Gonzo along the outer third and into Revolt. I used Chaos on the outer corner, softly through the crease, and along the lower lash line. I finished the look with Urban Decay Junkie Eyeliner.

Thursday

The first colour I used was Half Baked from the Naked Palette. I then blended Freak onto the outer third of the eye and along the lower lash line. To brighten the look I placed Savage into to crease and blended.

Friday

This look is another of my favourites from the challenge, using Revolt, Jilted, Urban and Slowburn. I place Revolt in the tear duct and slightly onto the lid, then I blended Jilted along the rest of the lid. I used Urban to deepen the out corner and along the lower lash line. Finally I blended Slowburn through the crease.

Did you take part in this challenge? Which is your favourite look?

Electric Challenge

Yesterday Emily from Beauty Broadcast posted on Instagram about a challenge called the electric challenge.

The task is to use at least one shade from the Urban Decay Electric Palette every day from Monday to Friday, and by the Friday you must have used every colour in the palette.

I thought this would be a great challenge for me to try out as I love my electric palette, but find it easy to get stuck in a rut when I find a look I enjoy.

I have started this challenge today (Monday 14th June) and will post all the looks I created in one post on Saturday.

If you want to get involved then use the hashtag #electricchallenge on Instagram, and please tag me in them so I can see @jadehadge

Here are all Emily's links for you to check out, she is one of my favourite Youtubers and her reviews are so in depth and truthful.

My Favourite Thing Ever!!

Just a quick one to show you how amazing my new handbag is. It definitely isn't to everyones taste, but I love it so much!!!!!

ARGHHHHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH AND I DON'T EVEN CARE IF EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD HATES IT!!!

It looks like the Queen threw up on it!!!!!!!!

Eye of the Week - Purple and Gold

Whilst I have nothing to do with my life (explanation post to follow shortly), I have been having a play about with some colours, and it's been so much fun.

I think this look has a bit of a regal feel to it, and it has been my go to look as of late.

Apologies for the picture, my camera still needs replacing.

To create this look I first primed my eyes with my Urban Decay Primer Potion, then I blended NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk on the outer two thirds of my lid and Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 24k Gold on the inner third.
On top of the colour tattoo, place Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Stargazer then place Urban from the Urban Decay Naked Palette onto the white base and blend into the gold shadow until the line between the colours is seamless. Next take a clean blending brush and blend through the crease to prevent any harsh lines, then apply a little of Jilted from the Electric Palette and blend out. Above and slightly overlapping Jilted, blend a small amount of Savage from the Electric Palette to create a gradient. Using a small smudger brush, line the lower lash line with Urban, and using the same brush, pack more of the Urban colour onto the outer corner to create depth.
Ensure everything is blended out with a clean brush and you're good to go.

Please tweet me any pictures if you try this look :)

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette

It's no secret that I love sleek blushers. Their single in Rose Gold goes absolutely everywhere with me (a dupe for Nars Orgasm), and with a light touch Pomegranate gives the most perfect healthy flush. So I decided it was high time I bought myself a little palette.

After much deliberation over which palette to choose, (would it have been too excessive to buy them all?) I went with the CALIFORN.I.A Palette, which consists of three cream blushers.

The colours in this palette are; Newport Peach, The Surf, and OC.

(They definitely do not look this smooth and untouched now)

I love all three of these colours, they blend beautifully, layer luxuriously, and are super buildable.
Both Newport Peach and OC have no shimmer or glitter, whilst The Surf has a lovely sparkle throughout.

Unblended swatches.

I wear at least one of these every single day, although I usually blend one of the outer colours with the light shimmery peach in the centre.
If I want my blush to really last I will set this with a powder blush, although it really doesn't need it. To apply and blend these blushers I use a Real Techniques Stippling Brush.

So my love for Sleek continues...

Are there any Sleek products you would like to see a review on?

Non Makeup Favourites

This month I haven't really discovered any new favourite makeup items, at least not enough to warrant a whole post dedicated to them. So instead I decided to share a collection of some of the non makeup related things which have made their way into my favourite products this month.

I finally bought myself an electric toothbrush after years of using shitty cheap manual brushes and I'm in love. This is the Oral-B Vitality White + Clean, and it cost £17.50 (half price) from Tesco. My teeth have never felt so clean, even hours later and after eating they fell squeaky clean when I run my tongue over them.
I really really want whiter teeth, so in conjunction with this toothbrush, I have been using...

the Oral-B 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste. First of all, this toothpaste is purple, which automatically makes me enjoy it more, but it also feels nice on my teeth and doesn't have an overpowering taste like some other toothpastes. I'm already noticing a slight difference in the colour of my teeth, so fingers crossed they'll be sparkling in no time.

Lately, I've really been enjoying crop tops with high wasted bottoms. Being in the larger side, crop tops are never something I would have considered, until I saw this video from the beautiful MelonLady...

I purchased this little orange number from Select for £4 and I love it. It shows the tiniest amount of my tummy and I find it's really flattering on my shape when worn with high wasted skirts or trousers. It also makes me feel like I'm much slimmer, simply because I'm wearing a crop top.

My new favourite snack is super healthy (for a change), Tangy Air Dried Apple Chips from Perry Court Farm. My goodness are these delicious, and as they are air dried there is nothing in this packet except apples; tasty, crunchy, tangy apples. I bought these from my local Brown and Greens Farm Shop, but they can be purchased online here.

I have three new favourite drinks at the moment, two hot and one alcoholic.

First up is this Amaretto Almond Coffee from Beanies which cost around £2.50 from Sainsburys. Now, I'm not a huge coffee fan usually, but this stuff is damn delicious. It's got a lovely flavour without being overpowering or too sweet.

For those times when I don't want a coffee, particularly before bed, I turn to flavoured teas and green teas. This is the best of both, with a subtle caramel flavour this feels like a real treat, whilst still providing all the benefits of green tea. I love settling into bed with a good book or tv show and a nice hot cup of this tea.

Now for the alcohol. This is a Porn Star: Vanilla Vodka, Passoa, sugar syrup, passion fruit puree and a shot of prosecco. These are damn delicious, and have very quickly replaced long island iced tea as my favourite cocktail. I tried this cocktail at Missoula, which is my new favourite place to go. Lovely food, fantastic cocktails and the staff are really friendly and helpful, and more than willing to chat away to you.

My current favourite app is the Sleep Soundly Hypnosis App, which over the last few months as been a life saver. I struggled to sleep for such a long time before I discovered this, now within ten minutes I'm out like a light. I highly recommend this to anyone who struggles to get to sleep.

Finally, my very over talked about book favourite is The Fault in our Stars by John Green. I resisted reading this book for as long as I could, I hate being caught up in other people's book obsessions (with the exception of Harry Potter, my one true love) but after seeing it on sale on Amazon I decided to give it a go. I enjoyed this book way more than I expected (and wanted) to, and I even had a bit of a cry at parts. I will see the film, which I am also expecting to hate, as with every film adaptation of my favourite books (again with the Exception of HP).

What none makeup items have you been loving?

Letter to My Sixteen Year Old Self

This post is much more personal than anything I've written before, and is inspired by the book Dear Me by Joseph Galliano.

At first I thought I wasn't old enough to benefit from this, or even to be able to have noticed any significant changes, until I realised that it had been SEVEN YEARS since my sixteenth birthday. So although there will definitely be more things to write about when I'm older, I wanted to do this now.

Dear Me,

Hows life? First of all, stop worrying about what people at school think. You will give zero fucks about any of them once you leave and you'll make some much better friends elsewhere.

College on the other hand is fucking awesome. You will meet some wonderful people at every college you attend (yes it's more than one) but I'm not going to tell you to try harder at this stage, that's not how memories are made. You are going to fail some exams, but don't worry, it will work out in the end.

Boys are an unnecessary stress, none of them are worth the heartache, especially one in particular, who isn't worth your time, breath, money or shit. You will know exactly who I mean soon. He won't change, he never will.

Going to Uni will be the best thing you ever do (asides from staying away from the aforementioned male) and it absolutely rocks! You'll have so much fun and make some amazing friends. But when the time comes, do what makes you happy!

So Good Luck, Enjoy yourself and don't worry too much.

P.S don't drink 4 rounds of glitter bombs to yourself ever! It won't end well.

I apologise that this post is short and may be a little uninteresting, but it's something I wanted to do :)

If you have written a similar post then please link it below :) I really enjoy reading them.

Life Update - Making Big Decisions and Embracing Change

{Personal Post Alert}

The Longest Journey Begins with a Single Step!

So, this week I made one of the biggest and hardest decisions of my adult life so far...I decided to leave University without doing my final year.
There are two sides to university life: there's the side where you join societies, make friends and have a jolly good social life; then there is the constant flow of coursework and exams and lectures and seminars, which as you can imagine, isn't quite as fun.

The whole experience of university (outside if the work) has been absolutely amazing, I've met some of the best people imaginable, done things I'd never have dreamed I'd do and had a very active social life. However, the work side just all got too much and I realised that not only was i struggling to get good grades, I was struggling to be happy. University effected my health quite badly, and after some counselling and some medical help, I realised that a degree really wasn't for me. As soon as I decided to leave, it was like a huge weight was lifted, and friends noticed a change straight away.

I was dreading telling my family, in particular my Grandad, who has helped me a lot over the course of my 3 years at uni. But I had to do what was best for me, what would make me happy and what would improve my health, surely they would understand? Thankfully, everyone so far has been really supportive, and I am so grateful.

What Next?

Since leaving Coventry, I have spent everyday applying from jobs, and have heard back from a few for interviews. I have no idea where I want to work or what I want to be. But for now I just want to get my foot onto the career ladder, gain as much experience as possible and get myself a nice little flat.

Some Inspirational Videos!

These three videos in particular, from some of my favourite youtubers, really helped me to understand that the only way to get on the right path is to get off the wrong one, and to do what makes you happy.

Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost!!!

My Current Hair Routine for Healthy Long Hair

My hair has been to hell and back! It's been bleached to within an inch of its life and not properly looked after (I'm quite lazy). Lately I have been paying much more attention to the state of my hair as I'm really desperate for it to grow. It's been stuck at the same length for about 8 years and this really upsets me, as I want beautiful flowing locks.

I first heard about this line of products (other than my conditioner) from watching a Melon Lady Video (Thanks Helen) and I immediately had to check it out.

The product name immediately jumped out at me, 'For Hair the Never Grows Past a Certain Length'. PERFECT!

I Originally just bought the treatment to use in the shower, and really liked how it made my hair feel. I then caved and bought the shampoo and the leave in treatment. I am so determined for my hair to grow.

So far I really like all the products, my hair feels so damn healthy and soft, and I'm certain that it is growing; my roots are coming through so quickly.

All the Lee Stafford Hair Products are available at Boots.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment - £7.99
Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo - £6.99
Lee Stafford Hair Growth Leave In Treatment - £11.99

My conditioner is American Cream from Lush, and has been a firm favourite of mine for many years.

Lush Says "A milkshake-thick conditioner with a strawberries and cream fragrance to leave your hair soft and shiny. Fresh strawberries help cleanse the hair, and are rich in vitamin C. We've added a splash of orange juice to add gloss too, since its acidity makes the hairs' cuticles lie flat and allows it to reflect more light. To top it off, this contains soothing clary sage and calming lavender for your scalp."

This stuff smells so goddamn awesome!!! The scent lingers until I next wash my hair, I'm constantly catching whiffs of it when I'm out and about.
This also leaves me with super soft, shiny hair, so it's a win all around.

This conditioner is available in Lush stores and on the website.
Lush American Cream Conditioner 250g - £8.95
