Makeup Revolution Review

A few weeks ago I posted a First Impressions on the products I purchased from Makeup Revolution. So now after using all of the products, I feel I can give my final honest opinion.

The eyeshadows are a miss, none of them has enough pigmentation for me to get a nice look from.

However the brow powders in the palette are actually really nice, I've been using the darker of the two on a daily basis and am actually really enjoying it. It seems to stay put nicely and has just enough colour.

The primer seems to make my shadows last well, but I will be putting it to the test in a post soon, and comparing it to my other primers.

The lipsticks are comfortable on the lips and wear relatively well, although for I've only worn them around the house, I'm not quite brave enough to rock a yellow lip outside just yet.

I am also really enjoying the concealer. It blends beautifully, is a fantastic colour match for my skin and seems to last relatively well, although nothing will last a busy 9 hour shift.

The highlighter is super pretty, but it is very easy to apply too much and look like a disco ball on crack. If used sparingly then it has a really nice effect.

The shining stars of the collection are definitely the blushers, both the lacquer and the powder. They have awesome colour pay off, blend lovely and last all day, especially when I layer the powder over the lacquer.

Overall I am really impressed with the products, other than eyeshadows and will definitely be placing another order soon.

Do check out my original first impressions post (if you haven't already) for pictures and swatches.

Favourite Eye Looks - Urban Decay Electric Palette

Sorry for another Electric post, but I thought it would be nice to share some of my favourite looks using such bright colours.

(Apologies for the photo quality, I need a new camera)

Urban Decay Primer Potion and Perversion Liner was used in all the looks.

To create this look I first used Fringe on the outer two thirds of the eye, I then out Freak in the inner third and blended into Fringe towards the centre of the lid. I then took Chaos (my fav!) and blended into through the crease and into the outer corner. I blended Urban along the lower lash line and to finish the look I used a small amount of Revolt in the inner corner.

For this look I again used Fringe on the outer two thirds and Freak in the inner third. Then I blended Savage through the crease and softly blended upwards with a fluffy brush. With a pencil brush, I applied Jilted in the crease, where Savage and Fringe meet. I finished the look with Chaos on the lower lash line.

This look was a little more experimental, but I really liked the way it turned out. I used Thrash all over the lid, blended Savage through the crease, then used Urban in the outer corner and lower lash line.

Finally, a more wearable look. I used Half Baked from the Urban Decay Naked Palette all over the lid, I then blended a Black shadow from Sleek in the outer corner and crease. I used Savage to brighten the look by applying it softly above the black in the crease and added another pop of colour by using Chaos along the lower lash line.

I hope this gave you some ideas of how to wear these colours, and I'm happy to do more if that interests anyone. Also, if you happen to try any of these out then please do tweet me a picture :) @prettyglitter14

How do you wear bright colours?

Is Granny on Acid? Lush Bath Bomb Review

Another new bath bomb from Lush, with the strangest name ever!
This bath bomb is called Granny Takes a Dip, and I have no clue why!

This thing is crazy. It's so colourful and bright, some colours fizz away quickly while others dissolve slowly. And the end result is a deep pink water with a beautiful scent.

The Peppery, Gingery Citrus scent is lovely and really fills your bathroom with scent.

I would definitely buy more of these as they're so super fun.

Have you tried the Granny Takes a Dip Bath Bomb? What's your favourite Lush Product?
