My Favourite Eye Look - Wearable(ish) Rainbow

RAINBOW!

First of all I would like to apologise for the photo quality, I don't seem to have the hang of taking photos of my own eyes yet (oops).

I have been playing with colour a lot lately, finally edging away from my Naked Palettes into my lesser used shadows. I did this look when I was having a play around and I absolutely love it!

Products used
  • Barry M Dazzle Dust 76-Yellow (Inner Corner/third of lid)
  • Mac Aquadisiac shadow (Centre of lid - blended into dazzle dust)
  • Urban Decay Vice 2 Madness (Outer corner - blended into mac)
  • Urban Decay Flash (Blended through crease and used to line lower lash line
  • Sleek Oh So Special Palette Ribbon (Blended through crease above Flash

I've been wearing this look most days to work and have had so many compliments.

Let me know if you try this look out or if you have any colourful eye looks that you love.

Carrots? For your face?

Yes to Carrots

I have heard so many good things about this brand from some of the bloggers/youtubers that I follow from the US, especially {Elise} AKA The Bubblegum Princess.

Please ignore my chipped nails :(

Until recently, I had only ever seen these online, and the official website only delivers to the US. But this morning, by chance, I spotted the whole Yes to range in my local Boots store.

Obviously i snapped up the carrot one (they also do cucumber, tomato, blueberry and grapefruit versions for various different skin types) as it is intended for dry skin.

The product has 99% natural ingredients, is free of parabens, SLS and petroleum free, so I'm hoping that my skin will become the perfect canvas that I've been longing for.

I paid £6.99 for this in Boots. And you can expect a review very soon (I will be using this tomorrow in my morning shower).

Check out the Yes to Carrots website and their Blog. They have some super cute mission statements, tips and just generally happy posts and products.

Have you tried anything from the Yes to range?

Catch up - My Week in Bullet Points

Hey Guys
Sorry I've been pretty shitty sucky on the blogging front lately, I've been really busy with uni, work and cheer, so this is a it of a cheat post just to update you and to add in a few things I've been enjoying lately.

  • I have 2 exams at the beginning of May which i'm super nervous about, there is a lot riding on me passing them.
  • My hours at work have been increased (which is a good thing). I really enjoy my job and all the people I work with.
  • Next month is the final competition of the season and we have the potential to win 15 trophies!!! I'm so excited!

  • I am currently using a lot of leave in conditioner (as well as regular conditioner) because my hair is so dry. I should probably stop dying it.
  • I am trying to experiment with colour a lot more, rather than only using my naked palettes, and i'm really enjoying it.
  • I am in dire need of an eyebrow wax (TMI??)
  • I am almost finished convincing myself to get my tongue pierced next month

Hopefully I will have something more interesting for you all next time, and at some point I will do a post on my cheer bows (once my latest 3 arrive) and possibly a post on tattoos.

Is there anything in particular you would like to see? What have you been up to lately?

More Revlon Parfumerie Polishes

So I definitely have a problem. I am obsessed with these nail polishes.

I love everything about these polishes. They look much more expensive than they are: these are definitely going to be out on display rather than in a drawer with the rest of my polishes.

As these are currently 3 for 2 in Boots, I am allowing myself to buy them 3 at a time, although I do intend to own most of them fairly soon (there are some scents which I don't like the sound of).

L-R: Fresh Linen, Spun Sugar, Chocolate Truffle

I was very excited to see these colours in my local Boots; last time I checked there was only a small selection, this time the entire collection was in stock.

My absolute favourite of the bunch is Fresh Linen, it smells like freshly washed bedding, and reminds me of Fluffy Towels from Yankee Candle. It has such a clean fresh scent which feels perfect for spring. The colour is a a white/ivory shimmer: 2 to 3 coats are needed for complete opacity, however it's not too sheer to wear a single coat, in fact, it's pretty this way.

At first glance, Spun Sugar looks like a metallic silver. However, it is a mixture of gold, silver and grey, which makes for a very pretty and unique colour. This colour also requires 2 coats to be opaque, but one coat does leave a nice silvery colour to the nails, without being too sheer. Being metallic, this colour can look quite streaky.
The scent on this is very sweet, I almost smell some of the background sweetness from the Italian Leather Polish. It has a perfume/musk scent beneath the sugary sweetness.

Chocolate Truffle is definitely the strongest scent out of the 3; I can smell some of the scent straight from the bottle, even though the idea is that the polish becomes scented once it's dry.
I'm not a huge fan of this scent, it smells like fake chocolate, almost syrupy and way to sweet, it's not terrible, just not what I wanted.
The colour is a rich creamy chocolate brown which is pretty opaque after one coat.

One Coat of Each

All of the Revlon Parfumerie Polishes are available online and in Boots stores for £6.49 and are currently 3 for 2, making each one around £4.30.

Have you tried any of the Parfumerie polishes? Which is your favourite?

I've been Naughty - Mini Haul/Review

Two Birmingham trips in one week means that I've collected a few goodies, and boy am I excited!!

  • I had my first Wagamamas experience - it was delicious
  • I spent a few days in my home town this week and had a nice meal out with my Gran (she doesn't get out much)
  • I bought a new cheer bow (it has Ariel on it)

Here is what I bought this week

For someone who isn't that into nail polish, I appear to have bought quite a few, although those who read my wishlist will recognise a few of these. And of course it wouldn't b a Jade haul if there wasn't a Lush product included

This little huge beauty is Brightside from Lush. Part of last years Easter collection, this giant orange hunk of bubbles has made a comeback in this years collection - and there's rumours that it's going to become a permanent addition.

"Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils to help you look on the bright side of life"
This thing smells like a bottle of Tango, it is so refreshingly orange scented whilst still being sweet and sugary. Plus, with orange, red and yellow swirls, its ridiculously cute.

At £4.50 this is one of the more costly bubble bars from Lush, however it's also much bigger than the average bar. It's the same size and price as the comforter, so I'll definitely be able to get at least 5 baths from this, making it better value for money.

The first nail varnish I bought is from the Models Own Speckled Egg collection in the colour duck. These literally make your nails look like mini eggs (I am aware that there isn't a blue mini egg) and it's just the cutest thing ever!!

I painted my nails with this 5 days ago and so far it's chip free :)

£5.00 in Boots

L-R: Wintermint, Lime Basil, Italian Leather

Next are 3 polishes from the Revlon Parmurerie collection. I originally only wanted one of these colours (Lime Basil) but the other two were just so pretty, the Boots website does not do them justice.

Wintermint is pale shimmery green with tiny silver glitters and larger (yet still small) pale blue/turquoise glitter (the online swatch shows simply as pale green). This has a strong scent of polos or after eight mints, which I really enjoy.

Lime basil is a creamy blue toned green which is opaque in one coat. The scent is very fresh, i definitely smell the lime, and there is a hint of something which I assume is the basil.

Italian Leather is another which looks so much nicer than it's online swatch. Online this appears to be a green toned grey, however the actual product is a taupey-grey with a fine gold shimmer. This straight up smells like a new car, right down to the sickly sweet scent of a tree shaped car freshener. This is possibly one of my favourites, although I intend to try some of the other colours/scents.

These retail in Boots for £6.49 but are currently 3 for 2

Wintermint, Lime Basil, Models Own Duck

I am always looking for something new to tackle my dry skin problem, and I couldn't say no to these masks from Superdrug, at 99p they were already inexpensive, add the fact that they were on a 3 for 2 offer and they're a bargain. I bought the Yoghurt Smoothie Mask to moisturise and nourish, the White Chocolate Mousse Mask to cleanse and deeply nourish, and the Sugar and Spice Mask to brighten and soften.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Finally, something I've been lusting over for what feels like forever, and after checking Superdrug stores in 3 separate cities, I finally managed to get my hands one them...

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss!!! I love Tanya, and have watched her videos for years, so I was super excited when she announced her nail polish and lip gloss selection. The Superdrug in Birmingham Bullring was pretty picked over, but I managed to snap up these two colours.

Guys, these lip glosses smell like strawberry laces! I'm in love. The colours I picked were some of the more sheer of the collection. Champagne Toast is a peach-toned neutral with a pretty gold sparkle. Heart Skipped a Beat is a sheer pink-toned red with silver-pink shimmer.

I love both of these and will definitely be buying some more once they become available in my local Superdrug.

These retail for £6.99

Have you tried any of these things? or bought anything new lately?
