The Naked's

Hi :)
First off I would like to apologise for the picture quality, my camera isn't as good as i thought it would be, so i will try to be as descriptive as possible to make up for the poor photos.

So first thing to note is that both palettes are packaged differently. The original Naked Palette is a sort of velvet material which opens and closes without a clasp. As you may be able to see, my Naked Palette looks pretty grubby, which is the only fault I have with this packaging. The Naked 2 Palette is a metal tin which closes with a clasp which in my opinion is better than the original Naked Palette as it doesn't attract dirt and is slightly difficult to open which means it is unlikely to come open in your makeup bag.

This is what the palettes look like inside, they both have mirrors in the lid (Naked 2 has a bigger mirror). The colours look pretty similar on camera but i feel that they are suitably different to justify getting both palettes. Each palette has 12 colours, all different, except for half baked, which is in both palettes. All the colours are very pigmented and long lasting.

The first colour in the Original Naked Palette is Virgin, it is a pale shimmery pink toned skin colour, which works well as an inner corner highlight.

The next colour is Sin, this is a slightly darker shimmery pink tone, and works for a natural colour with a hint of shimmer.

Next is Naked, its a matte cool toned brown which is perfect for my eyebrows, it is also useful for a contour/transition colour if you're using pale lid colours.

Sidecar is a shimmery pale to medium toned brown colour. I find this a good colour to use day and night.

Buck is possibly my most used colour in the palette. It is a warm toned medium matte brown which is for me, the perfect transition colour and i use it almost every day.

Half Baked is an extremely bright shimmery gold colour which appears in both palettes. it really brightens blue eyes :)

Smog is a medium to dark brown with gols shimmer throughout. Works as an outer corner colour for a more subtle look or an all over lid colour when you want something smokier.

Darkhorse is another great outer corner colour. It is a dark brown with gold shimmer, also looks good all over the lid for a smoky eye.

Toasted is a medium pink toned shimmery brown, this is one of my least used colours in the palette but is still pretty nonetheless, it is slightly too pink for my skin tone.

Hustle is a dark purple toned brown with purple shimmer. It looks more purple in the palette but more brown when swatched.

Creep is a medium toned black, it is quite sheer but buildable and has purple and green micro shimmer throughout.

The final colour in the Naked Palette is gunmetal, which is a dark blue toned grey with blue and silver shimmer.

The first colour in the Naked 2 Palette is foxy, a pale yellow toned matte skin colour, which I find perfect as a brow highlight.

Half Baked is the second colour in this palette, it is also in the original palette.

Bootycall is the next colour, it is a pale shimmery yellow skin tone, works well as an inner corner highlight.

The next colour in the palette is chopper, which is my favourite everyday colour in this palette. It is a rose gold colour with small glitter througout, it can be made less glittery and more subtle by blending lightly.

Tease is a purple toned grey mauve colour. As this colour is matte it makes a great transition colour rather than a more traditional brown tone.

Snakebite is a dark brown shimmer with a slight olive tone, great for a smoky eye.

Suspect is another of my favourite day time colours. It is a silver toned gold shimmer which blends beautifully across the lid.

Pistol is a shimmery medium to dark grey, looks good as an outer corner colour when paired with suspect or verve.

Verve is a pale shimmery silver, good as a lid colour or an inner corner highlight.

YDK is a purple toned gold mauve shimmer, this is one of my least used colours in this palette, purples tones don't really suit my eyes.

Busted is a deep purple toned brown which i find is best used as an outer corner colour in my opinion, but can be used as an lid colour if you like darker colours.

Finally is blackout, which is a true matte black colour, perfect for outer corner definition and for darkening the lower lash line.

Overall i love both palettes and use them both on a daily basis, obviously you don't need both palettes and i think either would be great on its own. I am glad i have both as there are colours in both which i use on a daily basis, such as buck in the original palette and chopper in the Naked 2 Palette. If you only want one palette then i would recommend going for the one which you feel you would get the most use from, i.e. which has the colours which suit your eyes and skintone best. I get so much use out of these palettes and would recommend them to anyone.

I hope my opinions have been helpful, my next post will be about the Revlon Lip Butters which I have FINALLY got my hands on. All I was told was that they would be released in the UK in March, so every day this month I have been to Boots with no luck, but today they were there and im pleased to say that they were fully stocked so I managed to get a good look at the colours. I only purchased 4 for now and swatches and opinions will be up soon :)

Hey There

Hi :)
I have literally just spent the last hour trying to decide whether my first post should be just a simple introduction kind of deal or whether I should throw myself straight into it and do a review, admittedly whilst being distracted by The Green Mile, but I finally decided on an introduction, so here goes.

My name is Jade and I am 21, my main reason for creating this blog is to share my thoughts and opinions on various beauty items, mainly makeup, and to show swatches and possible uses for the products I review. However, you can expect some posts that aren't quite beauty related but hopefully will still be of interest. I plan on making this blog quite personal as i would like people to feel that they know me and can trust my opinions.

I'm planning on reviewing and comparing the Urban Decay Naked Palettes for my first proper post (I know everyone is doing it but everyone will review differently so just wanted to give my opinion). I have other Urban Decay palettes to review also, and will happily take requests so if I have the product (or can afford to buy it and think I will use it) then I will review it should someone request a review.

I'll leave the introduction at that and hope that I have sparked some interest. This actually reads quite formal (oops) but i hope to have lots of fun creating posts and I hope you enjoy reading them :)
